The Artist
A multi-disciplinary performing artist bridging the worlds of acting, dance, choreography, and movement direction.
Jami Harper
Toronto, Canada
Jami Harper is a Toronto-based performing artist whose work spans the boundaries of traditional disciplines. With training in classical ballet, contemporary dance, and dramatic arts, she brings a unique physicality to every role and project.
Her career began on stage with Soulpepper Theatre Company, where she discovered her passion for the intersection of movement and storytelling. This led to parallel careers in dance and acting, eventually evolving into choreography and movement direction.
Today, Jami divides her time between performing, creating, and teaching. She has choreographed for film, television, and live performance, while continuing to take on acting roles that challenge and inspire her. As an instructor at The National Ballet School and George Brown Theatre School, she helps shape the next generation of performing artists.
Her approach to movement is rooted in authenticity and emotional truth. Whether directing actors through a fight sequence, choreographing a music video, or teaching a masterclass, she believes that movement is a language that speaks directly to the human experience.
Movement is not about steps or positions—it's about truth. When the body tells the truth, the audience feels it.
